Anatomy of a roof

Where roofs fail,
where we look first.

Most leaks are not the tiles. They are the flashings, the valleys and the verges. Here is what we inspect on every survey, with average failure ages so you know what to expect.

Storm took half the ridge in February. They scaffolded the same afternoon, watertight by sundown. Permanent repair followed two days later, on the dot of the quote.

Henry P.Highgate

Welsh slate re-roof on a Victorian terrace. Conservation officer signed off without a single comment. That has never happened on this house before.

Aiyana K.Stoke Newington

Insurance work after a tree came down. They wrote the report, photographed everything and the insurer paid in full. Honest people doing a clean job.

FAQ

Questions homeowners ask.

00

Yes. A two-person team can be on site within four hours during daylight, six in the dark. We make the roof safe and watertight on the first visit, then quote any larger work in writing within 48 hours. There is no callout fee for confirmed leaks.

00

A traditional pitched roof on a three-bedroom semi runs between £8,000 and £14,000, depending on materials, pitch and access. Flat roofs are quoted by square metre, typically £85 to £130 per m² for EPDM and £140 to £200 per m² for GRP. Every quote is itemised and fixed before any work starts.

00

Storm and accidental damage usually are, wear-and-tear is not. We provide an insurer-ready report with photographs, area measurements and a cause statement at no charge if we are doing the repair. The success rate on legitimate claims we support is above 90 percent.

00

Twenty years on workmanship for all installs, ten years on flat-roof systems, plus the manufacturer warranty on the materials. CompetentRoofer registered, NFRC member, fully scaffolded and insured to £5 million.
